Letterpress Final Project

These are the drawings I used to make polymer plates for my final project for letterpress last semester. I'll throw the final prints up here once they're unpacked. I printed them on newsprint with a translucent white as the background of the hand and some of the text, along with handset type defining the correlating word.

My final project for general print last semester.. I made a digital collage which I then silkscreened, I cut the ampersand out of lino (first time doing lino, not bad?).. theeeen added watercolor and ink details, enjoy.

Typography 3 assignment: We were given two articles from house & home and had to design them under the same restrictions given to their designers. We used their templates as well as their fonts. Here's what I managed to come up with, enjoy.

So this week I threw in some designs for the redesigning of OCAD swag. Here they are. Also, I am fully aware I'm obsessed with budesbahn and I'm trying REALLY hard not to design with it... it has proved much more difficult than one might have thought. What does a designer do when they have a love affair with one font? download thousands more. I have been on a spreeeee.. one of my new favorites is blocked (no idea who it's by.. it doesn't say.. odd)..could never ever work for body copy but I'm not even concerned with that right now... that's right.. said it.. eff legibility. Let the minions work to read. haha, kidding... not really. Anyways, enjoy?

I had to make 25 designs after the word 'look'. I decided to just show everyday things you look at, and place the word where you look. Here are a few I liked.Oh, I added color after the fact, it seems all second year assignments involve no color. boo.
